Solar Solipsis By Salamander Wool (Ehse 022) On Carson Garhart's (aka Salamander Wool) second Ehse release, no sound or device is safe. Experimenting with found sound, taboo sound, dissonance, un quantized "popular rhythms", and a general affinity with the eclectic, this record blooms full where the latter begun. Stemming from a cosmology that Apollo would be proud of, this mostly instrumental record explores cinematic themes as well as deeply enigmatic archetypes. Beginning with dawn, listeners are brought through a full contemporary day on earth, replete with androids intoning from mountain tops, apocalyptic carousels, D.C. wormholes, Ballard dance music, dystopian architecture, Carpathian truckers, and serene sunsets, to name a few. Garhart works from a visual perspective throwing the listener into worlds imaginary and frighteningly real.
